PHP Application Engineer
SPH Media’s mission is to be the trusted source of news on Singapore and Asia, to represent the communities that make up Singapore, and to connect them to the world.
It has several business segments in the media industry, including the publishing of newspapers, magazines, and books in both print and digital editions. It also owns and operates other businesses including radio stations and outdoor media.
In this role, you can expect to:
● Work with PHP-based CMS systems which deliver complex, mission-critical content and media to global audiences measured in the millions.
● Work with a mix of cloud infrastructure and open-source technologies to build, scale, and maintain external and internal applications.
● Implement and maintain front-end applications serving a mix of external and internal users, covering a variety of business use-cases.
● Collaborate with engineers in a project-oriented and agile-driven environment working across multiple product areas.
● Work with the “you build it, you run it” mindset, enabled by a Platform Engineering team.
You may be a good fit if:
● You have five or more years of experience working with PHP in production environments.
● You have spent three to five years working with JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS or VueJS.
● You have experience working with backend languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
● You are familiar with working in cloud environments such as AWS, and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
● You have familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL, ElasticSearch (or OpenSearch), DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
● You have worked with full-stack projects and teams which promote and use CI/CD pipelines.
